Love, Data, and the Work Behind the Return

Dear Miami, we met through work. Twelve years, a few changes of address, and one lesson: my database and my numbers came with me every time. Now I’m back at…

Dear Miami,

We met through work.

I was an engineer, trained where things break, and you handed me twenty-some properties that weren’t mine. Vendors, turnover, the assessment nobody budgeted for. It wasn’t romance yet. It was engineering with a view.

A year later I got licensed. On my first day I was given two rules I still keep: know your stats, work your CRM. I wrote them down. Then I tested them.

You taught me patience. A database can take three years to say anything back, and then it never stops talking.

Then came the complicated years. I kept changing addresses, thinking a new place would fix us. What I finally understood: I was looking for the answer in the brokerage, not in my own system. Everything I rented stayed behind. My database and my numbers came with me every time.

Sometimes this business is rude. The one thing you get to choose is who you trust.

So I’m back where we started, at Avanti Way. Not to fix anything. Because some people understand what you’re building without you having to explain it.

Love, Isolda

P.S. Twelve years. Three companies. Two things that never left: my database and my numbers.
